Getting to Know You…

Of all the places you have traveled, which resonates most with you?

I have travelled within Tanzania. I have never been out of the country, but have always enjoyed it.

What do you feel is the biggest challenge facing Africa today?

Africa is facing many challenges in different areas-politically, socially, and environmentally. I would like to talk about the African environment, which is in very bad condition and very sick. This is caused by leadership and bad policy regarding vital education. If we review environmental policy and adjust a few things, we may be able to take the African environment back to a healthy state again.

It often feels like one person can’t make a difference supporting the many environmental causes there are today. What small steps can people make to help conservation/preservation efforts in Africa or globally?

Sure, one person can’t make the difference in supporting many environmental causes, but we people can unite and shout out loud about it. We can educate ourselves simply by sharing knowledge on the importance of the environment. I believe in education. People must be educated on this.

What themes or personal experiences are most commonly evoked in your art?

My art is rooted in my culture. The culture is so diverse, as are its people. My art is a reminder of the beautiful continent and people that we have.
