Open Position: Artists for Africa Intern

Location: New York, NY 

Now in its 24th year, the African Rainforest Conservancy (ARC) works closely with its field partner the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) to support a network of more than 200 villages in 7 mountain and coastal regions throughout Tanzania that are protecting 3,000 km2 of forest – an area over 1,000 times New York’s Central Park. With a focus on grassroots conservation and community development, current projects focus on tree planting and fuel-efficiency; environmental education; income generating projects; and advocacy around joint forest management.

About the Position 

ARC seeks a full-time or part-time Intern who will report directly to the Executive Director. She/he will have primary responsibility for assisting in the organization’s fundraising and communications initiatives, as well as help the executive director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a small nonprofit organization. A primary function of this position is to help with the production of ARC’s annual Artists for Africa benefit, which is the focal point in meeting the organization’s annual fundraising goal. The ideal candidate will be organized, dedicated, and creative.
